ARKA Youth Center and the Marubi Museum announce a call for participation in workshops on early photography techniques, which will be held during German Culture Week, from October 2 to 6.

The workshops aim to continue the initiative of the Marubi Museum that began in 2023, rekindling the enchantment of creating photography with glass plates through the execution of early photography techniques, from daguerreotype to liquid collodion. The whole process is designed as a masterclass program, featuring lectures on the history of photography, practices for early photography techniques, open discussions for the public, and presentations of photographs created by the participants. Invited mentors Jonas Ruhs and Maximilian Zeitler run an analog photography studio in Berlin and work in the fields of film photography and early photography processes.

The program will take place at ARKA Youth Center.

Applications for workshop participants are aimed at children and young people interested in learning about, cultivating, and spreading early photography. To apply, please send an email to info@marubi.gov.al by September 30, 2024. In response to the participation request, the staff of the Marubi Museum will send a confirmation.

This program is organized in the framework of the German Culture Week, which is part of International Cultural Weeks, supported by the Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation of Albania and the German Embassy in Tirana.
